A Community of Hope

NAMI Tulare County is an affiliate of NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.  We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and providing essential advocacy, support, and education for individuals and families affected by mental illness.  NAMI Tulare County is committed to addressing the mental health needs of our community and replacing stigma with understanding. Even though we share overwhelming problems in common, we also share a common strength, a common understanding, and a common wisdom that forms a community of hope.

NAMI Tulare County's mission is to provide advocacy, support, and education throughout the Tulare County area on behalf of individuals and families affected by mental illness.

NAMI Tulare County began in 1978, when two local women started facilitating a monthly support group for family members and friends of individuals with severe mental illness. Soon after, we became an affiliate of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the nations largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building bett

NAMI Tulare County began in 1978, when two local women started facilitating a monthly support group for family members and friends of individuals with severe mental illness. Soon after, we became an affiliate of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the nations largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Today, we continue to raise awareness through advocacy, support, and education in Tulare County communities.

The vision of NAMI Tulare County is to raise awareness and provide advocacy, support, and education for people living with mental illness and their family and friends. We advocate for access to services, treatment, support, and research to facilitate recovery and wellness.
